HMS Ceres (Leeds)

HMS Ceres is the Royal Naval Reserve Unit for the city of Leeds and the surrounding area.

Role

Led by Commander David Noakes, HMS Ceres continues naval traditions in West Yorkshire, recruiting and training people from across Yorkshire and Humberside.
 
Located at Carlton Barracks – a well equipped site which is also used by several other military units - our Reservists regularly get together with their colleagues from HMS Calliope for joint weekend training and social events.

1801 the second HMS Ceres, a 32 gun Fifth Rate, in Egypt.

Supply and Secretarial school

Ceres became the Supply and Secretarial school based at Wetherby North Yorkshire.
1994

RNR Training unit

HMS Ceres was an RNR Training unit until 1994 based at Yealdon, but then moved to Bately and renamed Calder Division.
2005

Renamed

Renamed Ceres Division after moving to its current premises in Carlton Barracks Leeds.
2015

Renamed

Received a Commissioning Order on 1st September to become HMS Ceres
