Role
Led by Lieutenant Colonel I. Lamont, the main purpose of the Commando Engineers is to provide engineering support to 3 Commando Brigade Royal Marines. This support includes route maintenance, bridging, water and electricity supply, construction of field defences and structures, demolition tasks and mine clearance.
The regiment also has a diving team, who are trained to conduct sub-surface engineering tasks such as surveying rivers and beaches to identify suitable sites for bridging.
