VIP Boxing at Britannia Royal Naval College Dartmouth

1 November 2021
The first of the 2021 Royal Navy Individual Championships has taken place at Britannia Royal Naval College Dartmouth, in the newly opened Arthur Harrison VC Gymnasium.

There as the College’s VIPs for the evening were, Martin Johnson CBE, former England Rugby team captain who led the England team to victory in the 2003 World Cup, and Vice Admiral Jerry Kyd, former Fleet Commander.

Open to relatively new boxers to the sport the competition attracted boxers from the Royal Navy and Royal Marines, offering an opportunity to develop their skills against opponents with comparable experience to enhance their sporting growth.

The Individual Championships structure seeks, as far as possible, to provide boxers with the maximum opportunity to compete in at least one bout over the competition.
