Oxford URNU VIP hosting at the British Grand Prix
11 July 2018
The Oxford University Royal Naval Unit (URNU) were very fortunate to spend an incredible day at the British Grand Prix 2018 at Silverstone with first class VIP hospitality hosting.

As well as excellent track side views of the racing from one of the highest speed corners of the circuit this offered the opportunity for the attendees to have full access to the support race paddocks and podium allowing them to chat to the engineers preparing the cars.

The group said hello to Sir Frank Williams and the Coxswain, CPO Gary Maskell, was able to chat to Nico Rosberg. Midshipman Tom Murphy also had the opportunity to rev up his dream Aston Martin!

The engineering experience was courtesy of the Guy Hudson Memorial Trust who generously funded the hospitality hosting with 2018 being the 'Year of Engineering' in the Royal Navy.

The day was a fantastic engineering and life experience for the unit members

Lieutenant Will Jones, Commanding Officer Oxford URNU

Oxford is one of 15 URNUs located across the UK offering opportunities to 750 undergraduates from the country’s leading universities.
