Fortunately the Oxford URNU was offered the opportunity of a tour on board the operational Trafalgar Class Submarine, HMS Triumph.
The OCdts therefore made the long journey down to HMNB Devonport where they were greeted by the DWEO, Lt Craig Dymock RN, who gave them the tour.
After descending into the Submarine, the group carefully manoeuvred their way around each compartment of the boat with in-depth briefs on their specific roles at sea.
The visit drew much interest from the OCdts and in one case has confirmed his aspiration to join the RN as a Submariner with several others now considering the option.
