HMS Ambush receives Sovereign Bowl for outstanding performance

HMS Ambush's Marine Engineering (ME) Department recently received a prestigious award in recognition of their outstanding performance in the Flag Officer Sea Training (North) (FOST(N)) Manoeuvring Room Trainer.

Based at HM Naval Base Clyde, FOST(N) provides Operational Sea Training for UK submarines and maritime patrol vessels, with NATO and foreign participants also conducting training under the organisation's guidance.

On Monday, June 29, members of Ambush's ME Department were presented with the Sovereign Bowl - the efficiency award for excellence in Manoeuvring Room Training.

Their excellent supervision, preparation and consistency epitomises what the award was generated for.

The award is in recognition of the Marine Engineering Department which consistently delivers an outstanding performance in FOST(N)'s Manoeuvring Room Trainer.

"The performances from HMS Ambush have demonstrated a strong learning culture on board the vessel," said Lieutenant Commander Prideaux, Head of Manoeuvring Room Training.

"Their excellent supervision, preparation and consistency epitomises what the award was generated for."

FOST(N)'s Commander Cragg, also praised the submarine crew's performance.

"HMS Ambush have set an example for other crews to follow," he said. "I look forward to the healthy competition that the award has generated amongst the crews to win the Sovereign Bowl next year."
