Victory Squadron take part in Brecon Beacons Challenge

Brecon Beacons Challenge
7 July 2016
A team from Victory Squadron, HMS Collingwood, took part in the Royal Navy Brecon Beacons Challenge 2016 over the weekend of 25-26 June.

Run by the Staff at the Outdoor Leadership Training Centre (OLTC) in Tal-Y-Bont (TYB), 16 teams took part from ships and shore establishments.

The challenge involved a 35km slog round the Brecon Beacons on day 1, followed by a similar distance of mountain biking round testing terrain on day 2.

Team Captain, Lieutenant Glen Kerrigan, said, “The Brecon Beacons challenge is a great event, using the excellent facilities at TYB.

"The OLTC Staff did a superb job of organising it, and miraculously sorted out some lovely weather for us whilst we biked round!  We will definitely enter next year, perhaps having done a little more training!”
