Collingwood kids attend Kings Camp

Collingwood kids attend Kings Camp
24 August 2016
HMS Collingwood has once again opened its doors for a week of sporting activities organised by Kings Camp.

This summer, children from service families across the region have spent time at HMS Collingwood taking part in Kings Camp - a nationally organised scheme to give children access to new skills and experience in sports, socialising and interaction.

Kings Camp is a leading provider of holiday sports and activity day camps for children, working closely with many naval communities across the UK.

Activities include a wide range of sports, socialising, interacting and learning new skills from their experiences.

With full use of sports facilities including swimming pool, indoor and outdoor facilities, the inspiring Kings Camps coaches ensure all children are fully involved in the activities.

This year’s sessions saw 80 children, aged 5 to 13 years old, attend the camp which was hosted at the naval establishment and took full advantage of the sunniest day of the week with some water themed activities.

The children got stuck into each activity, which concluded in a group water fight on HMS Collingwood’s sports fields, followed by some indoor games and a ‘Star of the Day’ presentation to finish the afternoon.

HMS Collingwood is just one of the destinations for Kings Camp this year, with sessions popping up across the region.
