1 August 2016
Recently the final round of an inter-department challenge took place at HMS Collingwood’s SARC (Sport and Recreation Centre).

The competition consisted of 3 events, each with a different sport challenge. The final round saw 6 teams take on an intense round of dodge ball and battle to claim victory for their respective departments.

After receiving a short briefing from organiser Leading Physical Trainer Craig Bryant, the teams got stuck in.

With competitors from the Royal Marines Band, RAF, AWT, FTU and Le Rouge a Larriere, the competition was fierce with each team making a determined and confident attempt for first place.

Commenting on the event, Craig said “It’s a great event with the aim of getting people out of their offices and involved with some physical activity, which they wouldn’t normally have the opportunity or time to participate in.

“Challenges like this really promote the importance of team work and morale.”

On completion of the challenge, the teams gathered for the announcement of the results.

Commander Johnston, Executive Officer of HMS Collingwood was in attendance to award the winners and runners up with chocolate and t-shirts, proceeding to announce the RAF as the overall winners and thank each team for taking part.
