Role details

What you’ll do

Throughout your career as a Physical Trainer you could be employed at Naval Bases, training establishments, Naval Air Stations and onboard Ships.  You might be delivering a Royal Navy Fitness Test one day and organising a sporting event in an overseas national stadium the next.  You’ll work alongside like minded people all committed to making a recognised contribution to improving the health and wellbeing of RN personnel, providing professional exercise and evidence-based lifestyle information as well as taking on vital executive duties in the process.

  • Promote and deliver fitness, health and wellbeing
  • Lead and manage sport and sports teams
  • Lead and manage Adventurous Training
 

Pay & benefits

  • A starting salary of at least £25,200
  • Increasing salary to £38,932 on completing of a LH PTI training
  • Earn in up to £62,073 as a WO1 basic pay depending on skills and experience as your career progresses

Eligibility

  • GCSE English Language and Maths Grade 4 and above - functional skills pass in these subjects are also acceptable
  • Minimum colour perception standard of CP4
  • Free from any criminal convictions
  • You must be aged between 18 to 35
  • A full UK Driving Licence covering manual vehicles must be held when you apply
  • You must be a United Kingdom citizen or British Dual National. Dual Nationality restrictions do apply
  • You must have lived in the UK for 5 years continuously prior to application
  • Direct Entry PTI must pass a PT suitability board prior to entry, which is held during RN Candidate Course
