Family life

Your loved ones, our community

The people dearest to you help you to be your best. Which is why we take their well-being as seriously as yours. When you join the Royal Navy, your family becomes part of our family.

Practical support

Everyone gets 6 weeks of paid holiday - on top of public holidays. And more still if you’ve been at sea. We can also help with housing for married couples, civil partnerships and serving lone parents.

Emotional support

Wherever you are, we will always ensure you can stay in touch with the people who matter, and they will always be able to contact you. Our People Support Organisation is a service for you and your family, for whenever you need emotional or practical support.

Financial support

Supporting a family can be tough. We offer financial support in many different ways. From help with childcare, to railcards, buying a house, to trips to LEGOLAND.

Starting a family

Choosing to start a family will never hold you back in the Navy. You can expect competitive parental leave and pay - as well as full support in meeting accommodation needs.
